The Celebration of Student Research and Creative Endeavors is an annual event that highlights the diverse, high-impact work produced by App State students. From scientific discoveries and community-engaged scholarship to artistic performances and innovative design, this event reflects the breadth of inquiry and creativity that defines the Mountaineer experience.
Participants present their work through posters, oral presentations, exhibits, performances, readings, and demonstrations. Faculty mentors, peers, staff, and community members are invited to attend and engage with students as they share their accomplishments.

Plemmons Student Union, 420 Parkway Ballroom
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. All presentations occur on the 4th Floor Plemmons Student Union. There is a short break from noon-12:30 p.m. Events are completed by 4 p.m.
Guest speaker and awards
The guest speaker will present at 12:30 p.m. and poster competition awards are announced immediately after.
Poster Sessions
Morning Sessions
- Morning Session 1 - 9:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m.
- This session also includes the poster competition where undergraduate and graduate students were selected to participate based on reviews of their abstracts. They will present their poster to a panel of judges and the top 3 in each category will be selected.
- Morning Session 2 - 10:40 a.m. -noon
Afternoon Sessions
- Afternoon Session 1 - 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Afternoon Session 2 - 2:40 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Numbers are assigned to posters - presenters, please look for your poster number upon arrival. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your presentation to place your poster on the assigned board.

Oral presentations are 15 minutes in length, allowing for at least 5 minutes for questions. Presenters, please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled session in order to upload your presentation. Please stay for the entire session. Oral presentations will occur in either room 415 or 417, Plemmons Student Union.

Exhibiting Your Work
For platform talks or performances
You will have 15 minutes for talks and 5 minutes for questions. Oral talks and performances/demonstrations will be presented using PowerPoint presentations or video formats compatible with the technology cart/computer podim in the assigned room. If you have questions, please email us at osr@appstate.edu.
For poster presentations
Boards (4 ft x 4 ft), easels and pushpins will be provided for your use. If possible, please limit your poster display to 4 ft (wide) X 4 ft (high). If you will need more space, please email us at osr@appstate.edu to be certain that we can accommodate your request.
