The Office of Student Research is now accepting applications for the Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Assistantship (URA) Program. This program offers App State faculty the opportunity to engage a motivated undergraduate student in close collaboration on their research, scholarship, or creative projects. Faculty members, in partnership with their selected undergraduate student, are encouraged to apply. The URA program is open to all disciplines at Appalachian State University.
Please be aware that proposal requirements and application questions may change each semester, so careful review is essential. Faculty members should have thorough discussions with their prospective undergraduate research assistant to ensure the students can fulfill the position’s requirements (80 hours of work over the semester) and commit to the time and workload associated with the project. These grants support faculty-led research, allowing undergraduate students to contribute to various stages of the research or creative process.
Applications for the Fall 2024 URA Program are due by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Award notifications will be made by Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Note: Applications for Spring 2025 will open October 16, 2024 .
