  • Winter Weather Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Up to 3 inches of snow can be expected. Be prepared for cold temperatures, wind chill values below zero by early Wednesday morning, and blowing snow. Use caution while traveling.

  • Wind Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph can be expected. Be alert for falling tree limbs/trees. Be prepared for reduced visibility caused by blowing snow, along with isolated power outages.

The Office of Student Research is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Celebration of Student Research and Creative Endeavors meeting will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on the fourth floor of the Plemmons Student Union addition.

Throughout the day, ASU undergraduate and graduate students will present a total of 190 abstracts in both poster and oral communication format. The student presentations will represent 28 different academic departments and 98 Faculty Mentors. The top 3 posters in each category (graduate and undergraduate) will be recognized and awards will follow remarks delivered by our Undergraduate Research Mentorship Excellence Award winner.
