Appalachian to Host IMPULSE

Appalachian State is the hosting institution of the international undergraduate research journal IMPULSE under the direction of Dr.Leslie Sargent Jones, Director, The Honors College . This online journal allows undergraduates from around the world to submit and publish their neuroscience research and review papers and to serve as reviewers. This unusual model of actual undergraduate "peer review" was created 10 years ago and moved to ASU five years ago. The editorial team is also all undergraduates, with the executive members coming from ASU, and the undergraduate Associate Editors represent editorial review teams at universities from across the country (Middlebury to UCSD) and the world (Spain to South Africa). There are students from around the globe who serve as individual reviewers, but their reviews are sent to one of the ten member institutions and those teams are mentored by Faculty Advisors at each institution.
