  • Winter Weather Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Up to 3 inches of snow can be expected. Be prepared for cold temperatures, wind chill values below zero by early Wednesday morning, and blowing snow. Use caution while traveling.

  • Wind Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph can be expected. Be alert for falling tree limbs/trees. Be prepared for reduced visibility caused by blowing snow, along with isolated power outages.

A total of 61 undergraduate ASU students representing 25 different academic departments presented their research at the 30th Annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research at UNC Asheville, April 7-9, 2016. “Our students simply did an outstanding job and represented ASU’s research and creative efforts in exemplary fashion. Undergraduate research continues to be supported by our Faculty and as a result the students and their Faculty mentors should be recognized for their scholarly accomplishments.” states Alan C. Utter, Interim Vice Provost of Research and Director of ASU’s Office of Student Research.
