Introducing CRUS-NC - A new program for undergraduates to spend a semester at a coastal marine facility

CRUS-NC is an opportunity to take courses and conduct research on the NC coast. Review of applications begins October 15, 2015. Applications will be accepted until all spaces are full. The program website now lists potential research projects and has a course of study.

CRUS-NC: Coastal Research for Undergraduate Students in North Carolina is a semester-long experience for undergraduates to live and study at a UNC coastal facility. Through a combination of independent research, a week-long coastal field course, and online courses students can earn up to 15 credits for the Spring 2016 semester. The focus of CRUS-NC is on experiential learning and independent research at UNCW or the Coastal Studies Institute, and we've leveraged online learning technology to give students maximum flexibility in their schedules to permit time in the field and lab. CRUS-NC is open to all UNC-system undergraduate students and is ideal for sophomores and juniors. For Spring 2016 students have the opportunity to live and work with ECU faculty at the Coastal Studies Institute in Manteo or with UNCW faculty in Wilmington.
