UNC System Undergraduate Research Program Award Information

The Office of Student Research is pleased to announce the Request for Proposals for the UNC System Undergraduate Research Program Award.

The UNC System is continuing in its commitment to increase opportunities to engage undergraduate students in the research process. The UNC Systems Undergraduate Research Directors Council has identified three areas of focus for this RFP:  1) Course Based Undergraduate Research Experiences or CURE’s, 2) Inclusive Excellence or 3) Digital Learning.

Award amounts range from $7,500.00 to $35,000.00.  Successful proposals should include appropriate assessment plans and discuss continued impact after the grant period. Proposals may be submitted by one UNC System Institution or can be a collaboration with other UNC System Institutions. Please read over the RFP for more complete details regarding the proposals.

Only 2 proposals may be submitted from each institution. Therefore we will be hosting an internal competition.  Links to the RFP can be found on InfoReady.  https://appstate.infoready4.com/CompetitionSpace/#competitionDetail/1850589

The following are the internal deadlines for these proposals.

  • September 27, 2021.  RFP’s submitted to the Office of Student Research for internal review via the InfoReady Competition site.  Only 2 proposals will be moved forward.

  • October 4, 2021. The 2 selected proposals will be submitted to the UNC System Office.

  • Final award announcements will be made by the middle to end of October 2021.

  • All funds are to be expended by June 30, 2022
