  • Winter Weather Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Up to 3 inches of snow can be expected. Be prepared for cold temperatures, wind chill values below zero by early Wednesday morning, and blowing snow. Use caution while traveling.

  • Wind Advisory

    The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph can be expected. Be alert for falling tree limbs/trees. Be prepared for reduced visibility caused by blowing snow, along with isolated power outages.

The Office of Student Research is now accepting abstracts for our 20th Annual Celebration of Student Research and Creative Endeavors Meeting which will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2017 on the fourth floor of the Plemmons Student Union. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit their abstracts online through the Office of Student Research website at:

Research Day Abstract Submission

The DEADLINE for abstract submission is Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Due to extreme scheduling constraints, students can only submit one abstract and we CANNOT accept any late submissions.
