Winter Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Watauga County, NC between 4 am Tuesday, December 12 until 7 am Wednesday, December 13. This includes Appalachian State University. Up to 3 inches of snow can be expected. Be prepared for cold temperatures, wind chill values below zero by early Wednesday morning, and blowing snow. Use caution while traveling.

Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph can be expected. Be alert for falling tree limbs/trees. Be prepared for reduced visibility caused by blowing snow, along with isolated power outages.
